OPPORTUNITY FOR GAELIC WRITERS

Pròiseact nan Ealan (the national development agency for Gaelic arts) in collaboration with the National Theatre of Scotland, Playwright’s Studio and Gaelic Books Council are delivering a week long writers residency at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig in Skye from 15-19th June 2015.

Following the success of last year’s Moniack Mhòr residency, this second course aims to engage new and more experienced Gaelic writers to develop Gaelic theatre writing skills for future initiatives. Through workshops, groups and individual sessions with tutors, the course will explore methods for developing a Gaelic theatrical piece regardless of past experience or background.

TUTORS

Tutors and guest speakers include highly acclaimed Gaelic scriptwriter Iain Finlay Macleod and National Theatre of Scotland’s Associate Literary Manager George Aza-Selinger.  The Gaelic Books Council and Playwrights’ Studio will also advise on the opportunities available to Gaelic writers.

COSTS

Tuition, accommodation, food and travel will be covered for all course participants.
