Last Minute Mobile Tips

We’re delighted to have received some films already, with over a week till the deadline. That’s not to say those of you planning on making a mobile phone film should give up! We have a £500 prize for the Best Mobile Phone Short in both the Open and Youth categories this year. Here’s a wee bit of advice for those of you thinking of entering:

  • Make sure the phone is steady!
  • Film landscape rather than portrait.
  • Try not to use the zoom too much, get closer to your subject instead.
  • There are lots of things around the house which can make your film that bit better - like a bulldog clip, selfie stick or even an egg timer!

Check out YouTube for some great filmmaking tips on outdoor filmmaking, recording sound and some great examples of films shot on a mobile device. Go on, there’s no time like the present!
