3 More Weeks!

With 19 school films complete, and a handful of open category films complete, the deadline for FilmG 2017 is looming. We’re keen to see entries that leave judges with a tough challenge just as last year’s did and have more prizes of offer than ever before.

The Youth category is open High Schools, as well as special prizes set aside for young people who go the extra mile to make a film of their own:

  • Best Film = £1000
  • FilmG Gaelic Prize (Fluent speakers) = £500
  • FilmG Gaelic Prize (Learners) = £500
  • Best Young Filmmaker = £500
  • Best Animation = £200
  • Best Mobile Short = £200
  • Best Performance = £200                                                 
  • Best Script = work experience shadowing the script team on a Scottish drama

As well as this fab range of prizes, we’ve the prestigious People’s Choice Award, with the winner chosen by the voting public.

The selection of prizes for adults hoping to enter is equally exciting:

  • Best Documentary = work experience at a production company
  • Best Drama = work experience on  a drama production
  • Best Community Film = £1000
  • Best Comedy = £1000
  • Best Animation = £1000
  • Best Mobile Short = £500
  • Best Performance = £200                                                 
  • Best Script = work experience shadowing the script team on a Scottish drama

*prize money to be spent on filmmaking equipment, training, or an event
