Flòraidh Stevenson and Faye MacKinnon from Lochaber High School have returned from Italy where they attended the CIAK JUNIOR International Film Festival.
The girls were members of the team behind “Origami” which won Best Film at the FilmG Awards in February. The girls then got the opportunity to represent Scotland at the Festival which took place in Jesolo, near Venice.
They were joined by the FilmG team, their Gaelic teacher and their FilmG tutor Dòmhnall Eòghainn MacKinnon.
They were lucky enough to present their film to an international audience, many other countries including Italy itself, Belgium, China and Israel. They also got to watch the fantastic films created by the other teams and take part in some audience voting.
Although Origami didn’t pick up an award, it was an amazing opportunity to see somewhere new, make new friends, and see a wonderful array of films.
The girls were a credit to Lochaber and to Scotland and we are so proud of them! You can see their film, Origami, here.
